My WIFE's driver's door window just quit working. Didn't slow or seem to labor before quitting. It just didn't work one day. Fortunately it is all the way up. All the other windows work.
I pulled the switch assembly and got some strange continuity patterns, but dont' really know what pins should be doing what so...
When I push thw switch to lower the window the switch clicks and then seems to click inside the switch assembly. I'm thinking something may be stuck.
Thinking I need to check voltage at the motor, but don't want to mess up the door panel taking it apart (it is my WIFE's car). Any tips or ideas on how to fix it or what it will cost in parts/labor to have it fixed?
Thank you. This looks like a very informative forum.

It's a common problem that the window regulators go bad on these trucks. Taking the door panel off isn't very difficult. A couple of screws on the bottom and one behind the door lever and it lifts up and off the door. Don't forget to pull out the manual door lock lever. They go back on easily and don't look like they have been messed with. I have the same truck, same year and replaced the pass. side regulator a month ago. If this is what is wrong with yours I would advise against the real cheap import regulators. The fit isn't perfect, they are noisy and slow. I bought one of these and I wish I hadn't. I hope this is helpful.

Geez that's a big truck for your wife to drive. :uhoh:You stick her with it? Anywho, motors that run the window up and down are common to go after a while. It's not really a big deal and you can order it from the GM parts direct website. Not sure on the part number but it's a pretty good site. If you're not comfortable doing it, any NAPA, or Autozone will do it and if you get the part through them they will install it free.
Hope this helps.

Sticke her with it??? She hardly lets me drive it. She didn't want it at first because it was so big. I wanted one, or a Suburban, for years. When we got it she really liked it but still thought it was too big for her (she liked Toyota Corolla size cars), so I said we could look at an Envoy for her. After a couple months, when I stopped to look at Envoys she asked why. I said for her. NO WAY! She's not giving up her Yukon! She MIGHT consider the non-XL, but she loves HER Yukon. I only get to dream about it. She does let me drive it on weekends if I'm with her AND I fill it with gas.
Thanks for your help.
