I've got this guy in one of my threads(out of AF) who owns an automatic non turbo eclipse, says he puts 8k into it, about 190hp(that HAS to be low right?) The picture of the car has a big wing and a bodykit on it, but he's says he ported/polished the heads and new camshaft.

He's saying i'm a dumbass..yeah I know you dsm guys don't know me but listen to my openminded-ness, where was I, he says I don't know anything about dsm engines(4cyl awd) and that he belongs to these forums DSMtuners and 2gnt forums.

he's saying we(all of us in the thread) don't know anything, when this guy doesn't even understand what the internals of an engine are. I have yet to see where the camshaft IS but it's in the block right? and when you port the heads, that's where the pistons work?

he's bashing v8s and turbo v6s but I still think his car could be fast. from your experiences, Is this guy full of it or is he right? Is there a way I can help him or is his car a goner? Thank you

He's an ignorant retard. An auto gs? Are you serious? 190 is going to be too high, try like 160 maybe. I wouldn't worry about some wack ricer dude.

And the camshafts are in the head which is above the block, and porting the head is for the valves not the pistons.

And yes, he's a goner. Some poeple are just ignorant with their shit. Most people that talk a bunch of shit have slow cars so that's why they talk.

I don't really know what you are asking, or what the point is you are trying to make, but if he put 8k in his car and still only has 190hp then he definitely didn't put it in the motor did he?

Ask him for a dyno sheet if you dont believe him, but I think starting these pointless arguements and running to other sites to back yourself up is kinda retarded.

I don't know anyone who considers head work internal. It is a bolt on, you don't have to pull the motor to get the head off. When people say internal, I assume they mean crank, rod, pistons. Even in a V8, I (and everyone I know) consider the cam to be bolt on. Oh well, doesn't matter. I wasted like 10 minutes of my life that I will never get back on reading that thread :rolleyes: It isn't even a car forum, did you guys run out of things to talk about? Is anyone even old enough to drive in that forum?J/K

uuummmmmmmmmmmmm NO! R.I.P. I remember those cars. Not very popular back then. Pretty close to the same hp as a GT, worse gas mileage, no aftermarket support(back then anyway). High rev, low torque, fat ass car. People weren't ready for a turbo 4 IMO.

EDIT: Not ready for turbo at all after the pontiac 301 fiasco. carb + turbo - intercooler = boooooom! Many of those cars literally didn't make it off of the lot before they grenaded. :2cents:

I was happy to find a car thread, and then I kinda posted once and then took over as a regular, and now we're kinda the leading automotive experts(on gaia). It's a fun title, and no matter how much BS has been thrown around, I've still learned a lot of facts from my friends.
