Hello everyone,
I have been looking for an El Camino for almost a year.
Finally found a gorgeous 1970 SS 396, (don't know if #'s match).
It is almost perfect in everyway, no rust, great body, paint, mechanicals, etc.....except....... I just found out it has a sunroof!!!(I have not seen the car in person yet).
Who would do such a thing to this beautiful car???
My questions are:
1)should I pass on this deal ($10K)?
2)Is it worth replacing the roof with a solid one?
3)Does the existence of the sunroof detract from the
value of the car or not? (If it does not leak)
Thanks.

haha that sounds like a sweet deal. Ive been thinkin about puttin in a sunroof in mine. I might decide not to though. I can tell you they didnt come with a sunroof. The guy did that himself.
Good luck!

Id look it over really good befor buying it, but yea, any REAL chevelle or El camino guy knows there was never a sunroof on those cars, as a matter of fact i dont think sunroofs even existed in 1970. Its your call really, if you like the condition of the car, but im going to tell you right now the original roof is worth alot more.
