2002 Town And Country

Hello to all..
Have an issue I hope someone knows what causes it..
02 Town and Country that has BOTH the wiper and washer unit quit working.
At the same time..
Any ideas as to where I should check?? The local dealer has been giving the run around..at it time to finally get it fixed..We keep shelling out money..but they have yet to find out what is doing it.

Go under the hood in the fuse and relay center just above the battery and find the fuse labeled IOD . Pull that for a couple of minutes then reinsert . The BCM will sometimes get confused and this will reset it . Sometimes this happens as batteries get older or if terminals are dirty . Let us know how you make out .

What causes this to happen?
I am shocked they couldn't pic that up..
Anyway to prevent this from happening again??

No , no real way to keep it from happening . It's doesn't happen a lot but it does happen . Also keep this trick in mind if you have the following problem, rear wiper and washer just quit . All guages and backlighting go dead and a few radio problems . I have seen it numerous times fix the guage and rear wiper problem . Am really surprised that the dealer wouldn't at least try resetting the BCM . You wonder who they have working ont these cars . You wonder if they knew and were just trying to take you for a ride. Surprised it is still happpening on a 2002 , it was more prevalent on the 96-2001 models. Suspect the bcm if you have more than one thing quit at a time .
