Maybe my Camaro family can help me out with this...
I have an 89 Formula with the L98 engine (TBI).
Now, I have a thin vacuum hose that runs from underneath the throttle body, back past the EGR valve, that isn't connected to anything. It's just hanging out there.
According to the vacuum hose diagram, it should be running to about the same place as the thin hose that comes out of the EGR itself. The Chilton's from 1989 doesn't have the best diagrams.
The unconnected hose is just long enough to reach as far as the EGR outcoming hose is, but I can't find a place to connect it!
Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? And can this 2mm thick vacuum hose be the cause of my rough idle and overall running crappy???

89 Formula L98 TBI??? L98 is TPI.
That line (if it is TPI) goes to the EGR solenoid. Look on the passenger side back corner ofthe intake. There should be a bracket there with the solenoid mounted to it. There will be a hard plastic line coming from it going to the EGR valve, next to that port on the solenoid is another port, the line in question goes there.
And yes, having that line off will cause all kinds of driveability problems, you have a vacuum leak, unmeasured air getting in past the MAF sensor...MAF systems don't like that.

I had a feeling it went there, but I couldn't find a place to plug it in. I'm going to need to get the flashight in there and move some things out of the way. Thanks for the info! Much appreciated!
