'01 Sport Cig. Elect. problems

I just bought an '01 Durango Sport. None of the cigarette lighter (4) work in the car. We would have gone by Carmax today but they're closed on Sat.. We switched out the fuse that corresponded to the "Cigarette Lighter" on diagram on the back of the fuse panel because it was blown out. We tried reinserting the cigaretter light back into the socket and the fuse shorted immediately....every time....even with a new fuse. This doesn't happen, however with a cell phone charger for instance. It just doesn't get any power. Any suggestions?
