I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with. Iwant to buy a 91 Wrangler that I came across for a really good deal. The issue is that somebody put an engine and auto tranny in it from An AMC. Not much else is known about the engine or auto tranny. The jeep was a 5spd. the rear end is screwed up also. The body and frame are in very good shape. I need to know if I can transfer the complete driveline from a 1986 jeep CJ into the 91? The 86 has a straight 6 and comes with a 5spd tranny with about 2,000 miles on it. If so, what will be my biggest problems? The Wrangler already has a lift with 33's. Will that create an issue? Any help would be great. I always wanted to build a Jeep and I have 2 to work with. Thank You for any help I can get.

The 1986 CJ came with a DANA 300 transfer case, which means the front output for the diff will be on the wrong side. The T-5 transmission is good but you'll have a hard time getting it to bolt up with the 91 skid plate. I think only the engine will work unless you transfer front and rear axle. I would transfer the axles unless they're dana 44
