I don't really know much about anything, except my car is slow as crap. I kinda want to get an engine swap or turbo. From what I have seen, there are no turbos out for 2k1 civics, and I don't really know what to look for in terms of an engine swap. What exactly would I need? Money is not an issue. Thanks in advance.

i wonder what happened to the original car...
anyways, i can custom turbocharge your car. i dunno how much boost your engine will hold though:p i say 6lbs if good enough.

There is actually a k20a2 (RSX-S) engine swap being attempted at this very moment at IMPORT BUILDERS in california. A guy I know from www.7thgencivic.com (s/n htowncivicex) is putting it into his 7th gen coupe. He bought the engine off of e-bay for around $5500, and he's paying close to $3000 more in extra parts and labor to have it mounted. HAsport is SUPPOSED to be coming out with a set of motor mounts for the k20 engine to fit into an EM civic, but if they are, they're not out yet.
No one makes a turbo for the EM civic yet, so it'd have to be a custom job, which means warrenty may be negligible. If you wanted to turbo your D17, you'd only be able to run around 7 (if that) psi boost, unless you did MAJOR internal modification, and the gains STILL wouldn't match an RSX-S. Personally, I'd recommend the swap, if you have the money, then turbo the k20 (hell, it gets 200hp stock, with F/I it can EASILY blow the doors off of anything in your class). You're looking at a hefty price tag for all that (I believe Htowncivicex has bought RSX axles, front crossmember, and several other things, and they've had his car for over a MONTH). Go to www.7thgencivic.com and search the forums for "k20 swap" and you'll find it. Hope that helps!!!

I have found a kit for the D17 everyone!!!!!!! YEAH! No custom kit needed!
http://www.maxrev.com/index2.html
3000 dollars and then 329 extra for FMU. Thats not bad at all. I've heard MAXREV is the equivalent to FMAX turbo kits but without buying the name.

drop a cr-v engine b20b
160 hp@ 6000rpm
torque (lb.-ft)162 @ 3600rpm
2.4L
many people might think this is stupid but its something new and look at that torque if you want to do some drag racing or a quick start i think this is a great engine to drop in any honda

B20B is not 2.4L... its 2.0L B20(2.0)B
i think you are giving us the specs on the new crv engine... being the K24A. If this is what u ment, its a good idea if you want the extra torque. Alot of people are currently trying to make frankenstein engines with the 2.4L block. Be the first to put a k-series frankenstein in the 2001 civic :bigthumb:

200HP and probably lots of torque.

yea, thats pretty much what you would come up with if you take the 2.4L block (element, accord, new crv, etc.) and bolted on an acura rsx type S head. Except with these blocks, the rods and crankshaft, etc may not be as strong... also proper ECU tuning would be needed. If you have the money then the TSX engine is easier, but it will be alot harder to find and more expensive.
