i need some help

I just recently bought a 99 zx2 and when i push in the clutch it makes a funny ticking/rattling noise. Doesnt make the sound when downshifting. Also makes the same noise when i let off of the gas in fourth gear. I am very confused and need some help. Please and thank you.
