Power for radar detector?

I've always wired my radar detector so it comes on with the ignition switch. I've done that by running the hot wire to a fuse that powers something that comes on with the switch.
I see that the fuse box in my newly-acquired '03 Envoy is under a rear seat. I really don't want to run and hide wire that far. Any ideas about how to get power up near the mirror? Ground in that area would be good, too, but I don't mind running the ground wire around the windshield and under the dash.

Ok, nobody's replying, so let me ask this: Would there be a hot wire concealed under the overhead storage compartment, where the DVD screen would be if I had one?
I can pull it off this weekend and look for myself, but I'm hoping one of you may know.

Well, I figured it out. If anybody else is looking to do this, run your hot wire to the pink wire in the middle of the bottom of the mirror wiring harness and the ground to the black wire in the top of the harness.
I cut off the wire that came with the detector and soldered two small pins to the end, then stuck the pins into the back of the harness, where the wires go in.

I had mine wired in with my radio and it works well that way. Had the same issue you did.
