This is a huge letdown. They should have casted Jason Statham (The Transporter) or Clive Owen (BMW Films) to be Bond, and they should have given Bond a V8 Vantage, DB9, or a new Jaguar XK. Instead we have some blond guy that can't drive a stick that drives a Mondeo.

this new bond film is suppose to be more serious and grittier then the previous films

Casino Royale was the first ever Bond book that Ian Flemmings (Bond creator) wrote. it was pretty serious, with bond getting tortured at the end. it actually had alot of spy related stuff, not laser beam satellites, or megalomaniacs bent on world domination.

i do agree that bond should stick with a british brand such as Aston Martin or Lotus or something.

If it follows the book, yeah but it's got a lot of bad hype because of this. Will people bother going, at least true bond fans. Is Bond American now or something? A ford!?!

Rachel McAdams should have taken the part, but her agents think she's too good to be a Bond girl. That doesn't even make sense since most Bond girls were already big time.

I'm debating on whether to see it. Maybe previews will convince me. just ahve to wait i guess...

Agreed. Based on that origional article, Ford is giving them 7 times what they are paying Craig. Casino Royale should have been one of the best Bond movies ever, but all of this crap is making it look worse and worse. They are getting so much bad publicity because of the crappy actor and the Mondeo. I'll probably see the movie just because I've already seen all the other ones, but they better get absolutely everything else right.

I would agree with this for any spy movie other then Bond. The extravagent sports cars have been a huge part of the Bond movies. Cars like the DB5, Lotus Esprits, the BMW Z8, and the Vanquish make Bond who he is.

yes, come to think of it you're right. it is a bit central to the bond movies to have nice cars.

i think pierce brosnan was the best actor for bond, he was so well suited to the character you could really believe it. i dont think it'll ever be the same again. thank god they didnt choose robbie williams who wanted the be the next james bond.

Jason Stathom is too Bad-ass to be a bond, Clive owen is sort of on the same line. I'll miss Brosnan. He was the best next to Sean Connery.

But look at it this way: since Casino Royale was the first James Bond ever, maybe they'll make it like MI6 is brand new division in the Britsh government, and they haven't gotten to the stage of using such high class cars yet...so to truly start off the Bond movies as Casino Royale did with the books, they're using the Ford, and then they continue the story by escalating to the DB5, then to the Lotus Esprit, then Aston Martin V8 Vantage Zagato and so on...

What would you guys think about Liam Neeson or Sam Neil being the new Bonds, Neil maybe too old...but...just a thought as I was trying to think of alternatives to Daniel Craig.

i think they picked him because he has an accent......what's the name of that dude who played the Transporter? he's like my 2nd favorite actor, he made the Transporter and the Transporter 2 both decent movies.....and wasn't he kickin' ass in Ocean's 11/12? that guy's the man! he even had the cars (BMW 850i, BMW 760i, Audi A8 W12).

I think this new movie will flop. The movie was always about the cars and women. They would have been better off with an old AMC hornet and marge simpson. I have to say that woman in the movie is a bit on the scary side. I wonder how much Ford paid to gget that car in the movie. The choice for bond sucks too, he is supposed to be a tough guy with class and smooth with the ladies, not a mommas boy beach bum.

Brosnan was a great Bond, imo the best. Clive Owen would have been a better successor than Craig.

Maybe Craig will only do the one, like George Lazenby only did that one he did. Although, the one George Lazenby did was actually quite good... one of my favorites with the ski scenes.

Yea well they have decided to go for a more domestic look for the new bond make him more of a real to life character. He now own a POS car and the hot chicks have been replaced with 250kg queens who require 20 pies for lunch. but don't worry, he has the secret muffler upgrade which always atract the chicks........

sorry about the fat chick part. I've just had that sitting on my head for a while. I watched this programme when one of these fat chicks who weighed 250kg was on a diet.
