I personally think its a good idea, plus they said philly was looking into doing it as well... I can't wait till they do it if they do... you could actually have full internet acess in your car...

that would be pretty awesome.
Hard to regulate though, lots of people would hack access...
but I would pay, hell yah....no need to internet access in the home, because its in the air...sweet!

Unless they put some serious filters on it, the implications for p2p and downloading would boggle the mind.

I think their concept is brilliant - give the people something USEFUL for free, and boost tourism $ to pay for it.
To solve your P2P problem, just change the architecture of the networks so you connect to those closest first - once something got the the WiMax city, it would spread like the plague! No one would lose!

that would be very cool, actually, in so cal where i live. There's free internet on any busy block, all i need to do is drive to any busy place, park in the lot n use their internet.
