timing

Well i just helped my friend get his balance shaft belt and timing belt on, along with a new crank pulley, crank blade w/ new sensor and OBX cam gears. We got everything back together just a little bit ago and it cranks and cranks, but doesn't start. I triple checked every single thing that dealt with the timing and everything was 100% perfect. When he took the belt off the first time he didn't bring it to TDC so i had to align everything (crank, balance shaft, oil pump sprocket, and the new cam gears). To get the oil pump sprocket in time i made sure that when at 12 o'clock it felt counterclockwise (towards the tick mark). When we got the new belt on with everything lined up, i spun the crank 6 times to make sure everything was still align, and it was perfect. So it comes down to this. We checked to see if he was getting spark and he's not from any wires when someone is cranking it. Could it be a bad coil pack? The pack was perfectly fine before this whole job, i don't see how it could go bad...
Anyone have ANY ideas? We need to get his car running asap.
Thanks,
Steve

That sounds a little weird, have you checked the power/voltage coming into the coil pack?

Make sure your CAS is hooked up correctly. My friend and I just had the same problem in his 1g and it was because the CAS was wired up for a 2g and we didn't know the last owner had done that...

Make sure you didnt kill that sensor, if that blade was bent just a little, it mose likely took a chunk out of it. I actually just got done replacing the same thing. So make sure its connected and not broken again lol.

Oh, forgot to mention it's a 98 GSX...
My friend was the one who put the trigger plate and sensor on before i got there to work on it. He said he knows 100% it's on correctly, i even looked at it before putting the belts on and it looked good. We just ran the wire up the side of the motor to the electrical conntector and plugged it in. We're going to try my coil pack off the Spyder tonight and see if that changes anything...
Keep the ideas comin guys,
thanks
