Can everyone that has one post thier Dioramas of garages. I am in the process of planning one out and could use some ideas. what I have in mind is to make a 3 or 4 car garage with a driveway that loops infront of it.
I have never seen anything like what I have in mind, and it is a general idea of what my dream garage set up would be.

So if you have one, please show us some pics. If not, please comment on the idea.

nice idea. my ultra top secret project is a diorama that i am working on right now. i have been working on mine for about a little over a month now and still a few months ahead. if you want to wait you can use ideas from my diorama. only info i'm going to give out on mine is that it's 60x20 inches. all for 1/18 scale. i have ideas for your driveway and sidewalk. i was planning on using textured spray paint in gray color to do the sidewalk. it's about $7 in us. you can find it at michaels or any hardware store like lowe's.

I was always thinking on how to make something that would make my cars look more real.. I think the easiest way is to go outside.. break branches off of a tree.. to make them look real to the car.. and find a good place to shoot.. Hopefully the hobbie shop by my house has things like a hoist n shit.. that would be tight

@kerbie. actully mine is nothing like a garage. it is much more complex. think lots of real stuff. (no it's not gonna be 1:1 scale it's 1:18). anyways it won't be done for a while. i'm stuck on something and can't quite figure it out and i can't start on some other stuff until i get this done. still looking for two four post lifts.

They have them at my hobby shop, want me to buy you a couple then send them to you. They are spending (like $58 a piece). But, wait, they dont have anymore. They still have two post.

@g35 no i don't think my parents woudl be okay w/ that. i think the only way i can get them is if some website carried them. i dont' want the 2 post because it has a 1" base that makes it wierd. bcz i want the lift to sit on my floor. if there was a huge 1" base it would look wierd.

actuly to tell you the truth most of the items i have for my dio didn't come from a hobby store. mostly from craft stores like michaels i had soem leather laying around (an actual hide but scraps and ohter things i just had laying around)

nosliw2004:
I remember being told by someone that the 2 post lift can be removed from the base ( i could be wrong). I believe they are screwed down, so i dont see why you could screw or glue one onto a diorama.

well the floor of my dio is foam core. which = really weak.it would be too much trouble to re inforce it w/ wood and whatnot. and when i look at the base it is too thick to go flush w/ my foam core floor if i cut a hole.

You could buy the white shelves from the hardware store and cut to size, the diorama you are making whether it is one or two walls. You can mask and paint the walls to suit your taste. This is more sturdy than foamboard and I put on a GMP 2 post lift by by using a dremel tool to cut the outline of the feet so that it would be flush and screw down easily. Go to www.scalemodelingbychris.com for a few diorama pieces but they are resin so you'll have to paint them.

Hello everyone :)
I am new at this forum. Here are a few links to a German modelcar forum where you can see some of my model garages. Please excuse me not posting here the photos directly but I don't have enough time and, above all, there are quite a lot of them. Enjoy!
