Guys, I CANNOT believe what just happened...but I just got nailed........

Great, now that I have you attention, Please read my story

Well I work at Lowes as an assembler. I was proceeding to move to a pallet full of BBQ's and as I went to lift the top box of the pallet, I stepped up onto the pallet (looked brand new too) and lucky for me there was a row of three nails sticking right out of the wood. Well me weighing a nice good-bit-o wieght sunk right onto those nails! My left foot was the victim. It went right through my shoe and right up into my foot. All three nails. One nail went into my big toe. the second right into the webbing of you big toe and "index toe"...right where the muscle is. And the third right into the arc part of my foot. At first I just looked down and was like "ohh shit" and I yanked that foot off the nails, I nice popping sound complimented the pulling of the foot.

Well then I threw off my shoe and sock and at first saw three nice holes. Then I hopped over to a box and sat down. By this time, blood was everywhere. Then I had to get a Tetnis shot, and now my arm is going to hurt like hell tomorrow. All in all I can say that today went swell!

P.S.: I can officially say, that, I have been nailed!

I am sorry that you got nailed . I used to be a zone manager for LOWES and i have seen alot but that sounds like it hurt like hell . anyways maybe tomorrow will be better . later

sawa guy put a nail through work boots (but he wasn't being safe). They builder of my house failed to improperly clear the work site before hand. The worker tripped over a rock and fired a nail into his foot. Needless ot say he was back on the work site the next day.

I stepped on a nail a couple weeks ago. luckily it wasnt rusty or anything lol. all my skin fell off around it tho lol.

That would lead me to believe he was walking with a nail gun? That is a little different than stepping onto a nail that is sticking out of a piece of would. 99% of work boots have a hard enough sole so that you would feel the nails before they could ever puncter the boot. They are cheap, I would suggest investing in a pair.;)

That sucks dude... I feel your pain. One time at my old job we were tearing apart this porch and we were pulling up this sheet of plywood and the other two guys lost their grip as we pryed up on it. Holy shit... There was a nail right where my hand was dipped and when they let go I got the full pressure of the sheet and my hand went flat. The next thing I knew I had a nail sticking all the way through my hand... Definetly not a pretty sight. So I know your pain man... I never did get a tetnis shot though... What happens if you don't get one?

I stepped on that badboy and it drove about 2 - 21/2 inches straight up into my foot. It was a long narrow one, and honestly it didnt hurt too much. Pulling it out felt weird as hell, but there was little blood.

Must have been an off day, normally blood would have come spewing out of your foot like no tomorrow if it went that deep...

Thats what I thought. It drove straight into the heel, striaght up. It was pretty clean surprizingly

Hard for me to read, that has to hurt! I third buying work boots, and I second filing for workers comp. There may be spec's to your contract like wearing work boots, so that your injury might not be covered, but read up on it and give it a shot.

At first I thought this thread was about a car accident. Or, maybe that you got laid. I never thought you literally got nailed :lol:. Bad times.

Tetanus is a disease where little bacteria replicate and produce a toxin that draws your muscles taunt. You can get lockjaw and die in the worst case scenario. The rust itself isn't the problem, but is correlated with the presence of the bacteria.

But I am back at work today, but my foot still hurts like a mofo. Its swollen like crazy.

It honestly did hurt at all, counting the fact that my hole bottom half of my leg went completly numb.

Ohh yea, today at work went just as worse,....dropped a rubber hammer, right on my big toe. I swear my luck blows.
