Yup...pushrods were too long keeping the valves open just enough to throw everything off.
New ones are being delivered tomorrow...if this was actually the problem, a GOOD sound clip tomorrow late.

Anyone need some stock length hardened LS1 pushrods???

wow, that suck, that was it the hole time, lol. How did you find out that was it?Did it mess any thing else up?

Everything should be fine.
I have plenty of piston to valve clearance...otherwise I might have had some problems.

Pushrods too long. I did some extra research and found that my new lifters are slightly taller than the stockers...which in turn require shorter pushrods.
They are showing up tomorrow!!!!

I will switch to synthetic after about 3000 miles.
I first changed the oil after 10 minutes.

Nope. They are right from the factory.
But I needed shorter pushrods than the stockers because of a couple reasons.

This was all on me.

Are you more of a 4th gen. guy Luos? LS1 only or you know about 3rd gens. as well?

Mr. Luos
03-03-2006, 08:26 PM
I don't know a ton about the 3rd gens as a whole.
But most any small block is pretty much the same.

Yea, the big difference would be in the electonics. OBD II vs
OBD IBigPainInTheAss. Just curious...

Depends on how you look at it.
ODBII is harder to tune. :frown:

Yea, but I had a computer program for my laptop that I could flash the computer with and program it however I wanted it...that was easier to me. Plus I could read all the goings on in the engine with relative ease. But your right, basic tuning stuff is a lot easier on the 3rd gen...epsecially emissions elimination :-p

epsecially emissions elimination :-p
Eh...that one is pretty much the same on both ODB and OBDII.

There are MANY more timing/idle tables with the OBDII though. I will get a couple screenshots sometime.
