93 Caprice Timing Marks V8 305 E

I have a 1993 Caprice W/ 305 V8 E engine. The timing marks have about four "teeth" but it's so corroded that the degrees are not readable. There is one large tooth with a wide valley and then the remaining teeth to the left are the same size. The engine labels state that the setting is 0 degrees. Does anyone know which point/tooth or valley(between the teeth) is 0 degrees. Looks similiar to this VVVV :banghead:

The large valley is TDC (0 degrees).

Great, thanks. That's where it was. Although I continue to have a problem of engine pinging. I've been running with Premium gas, injector cleaners and octaine boosters to no avail. I've put new spark plugs in, which were needed. Can't find any vacuum leaks. When I checked for computer codes I got a 32, referring to the EGR. Do you have an idea?

Code 32 is Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system. If it is giving a code, chances are it is either sticking open or closed, allowing too much or too little EGR flow.
