Lets ee I have a 94 bonnie. changed plugs,Wires,O2sensor,EGR Valve, new coil pack(only one) and new belts. Ok car acts like it wants to stall when I start it not while driveing it after a few short trips. If I go long trips car is fine if i do short run and start stops I have trouble not always just once in awhile if i let car sit and putter for a few mins it will catch its self and i can drive off no problems when it doe sthis there is a terrible exhaust smell cant really describe it not like when muffler has a hole but its definite exhauste im going nuts here .ready to sell car for a PENNY at this rate. It will run fine then if i have to do alot of little trips it will start but has a very weak reaction if i pump the gas its like its not there at all once it gets going its good. I did notice the neg battery wire is bad had Autozone order me one today.I alos need a new muffler but not the problem I dont think. I need this car my daughter has to travel to Allentown to the Womens cancer center and she is also pregnant and Im at a loss I cant figure out this D*mn car). Is there any way you can have someone remove the Catalytic Converter for testing, then replace the converter if it is the problem?

Yes, or just drop the pipes down, or use a non contact thermometer, get it to operating temp, check the inlet temp vs the outlet temp the outlet should be signficantly hotter, if not the cat is blocked or lost it's effiiciency.

you can do a back pressure test at the front oxygen sensor port, back pressure shouldn't exceed 1.5 psi
