the federal reserved started shipping the new 10 dollar bill today. it's colored like all the other bills. i personally think they are rather ugly and stupid. i understand trying to curb conterfeits but you would think they could maybe make the bills a little more pretty. i've been to numerous other countries who's monetary bills look like 20 times better than ours.

I really don't care what it looks like as long as I have lots of it to spend. They can put an image of Elmo pumping a vacume cleaner on the face of the 10 dollar bill for all I care.

All that matters is the number in the corners...

the coolest bills are australian ones, they have a little clear plastic "window" in them. never seen anything else like it.

It's all about the Benjamins baby...yea...

I honestly don't mind the new colorful 20s. The 10s don't look awful. The ones I really like are the 50s (those look so cool). What I don't understand is that they're all redesigning the 20s, 10s, 5s, and 50s. Why not the 100s yet? I would think that since they're doing all these colorful steps to avoid counterfeiting, that they would change the 100s first as well because they hold the most value to the public.

BTW, I have a mint condition original $20 bill that I've kept in a special place since the early 90s. Think it would be worth something in a little while?

counterfeiters dont use large notes, it's usually 20s. the reason is that the bigger the note the more attention shop staff pay. they rarely check a $5 bill, but when dealing with $100 they want to be sure it's real.

counterfeiters use small bills as so not to arouse much suspicion.

Interesting design. Hopefully it'll prevent counterfiting. Like Shortbus said, as long as I can spend it, i'm happy.

:1: As long as it is worth what it says on the corners I could care less what they look like.

who cares what it looks like? it's money, people dont want money so they can admire the printing. it's not like you take out your money to look at. it's functional, what does it matter if it's ugly. it prevents crime and helps the economy by doing that.

quit your bitchin'
