It could be a whole lot of things with the transmission thats having problems. But first and foremost, check your fluid level and condition. If it's brownish red or dark brown, it's burned - time for a fluid change.

If the fluid/level is fine, then work from there. A sluggish trans could caused by mechanical problems within the transmission, or it can be caused by faults in the car's onboard computer. Do you also have a check engine light on? If so, run the codes and see what you come up with. You said the "D" is flashing, leading me to believe that there maybe is a fault in one of the trans. sensors somewhere. However, i've never heard of the "D" light flashing in Hondas - does it flash in constant flashes, or do the flashes fluctuate?

it flaxhes steadily and yes the engine light is on the trans was changed but im thinking that who ever did the work didnt realy change anything if you know what i mean.

In this case, I would take it to another shop for a second opinion - preferrably a transmission shop. If they find something wrong with the new trans, then you need to get things straightned out with the origional shop (the one that did the work). See if you can get some, or all of your money back from the shop (might be very hard, but still try). Then get your repairs done at another shop.

why not scan the code yourself, on pass side under dash right above ecu you will find a 2 wire plug, it should be tucked in a Neon green type pouch right above ECU, pull that down and out...take speaker wire or a paper clip one hole into the other..

Flip key on, but dont turn car on and count how many times it flashes..

THeres a thread that explains it better i keep that in my favorites, Thats for a 92-95 civic showing it but you do it the same way..

You can take it to autozone to scan, but if you dont have time id just go outside and do this it will save you on gas and everything...

Just posting this up so you know this later on and you may not have time or be close to anyplace that can scan it...

later
