How do you clean your MAF sensor?

I want to clean my MAF sensor. I know to use brake cleaner and a soft brush or cloth. I dont know if I should remove the whole thing out of the truck or can you do it while its attached. Its a 97 blazer 4.3l 4x4, where is the sensor and what does it look like. I think i know but not 100% sure.

Its in the air cleaner assembly (96 up) right above the filter housing in the round metal housing - just disconnect the flex coupler between the filter and MAF housing and spray it with brake cleaner that evaporates - do not scrub it or break the 2 wires - expensive. Works great and only takes a few minutes.

Brake cleaner is not the best stuff.
Use fast dry electrical contact cleaner.
No brushing. Just spray and let dry.
And the hit it again for good measure.
CRC now has a MAF sensor cleaner that works good.

My procedure exactly. I had a DTC which could be my MAF meter. I sprayed it with no-residue electronic cleaner and the code disappeared. Good enough for me.

Learned my lesson. I put a lot less oil on my air filter element now.
