Broken Ribs

Welp fellas and girlies its official just got back from the doctor and he told me i have broke 2 ribs....it hurts like shit and there is really nothing you can do about it so my question is have any of you guys had broken ribs? if so how did you pass time welp cant wait for responses ill be sitting here....staring at the screen lol..

yea ive broke some ribs its sucks for like 6 weeks, pills and lots of em, yoiu wont even know their broke

I've broken several ribs. For me it really ain't that bad, just learn which ways you can move and which ways you can't.

Painkillers are for pansies.

Broke one rib and pulled another in a atv accident, it only hurt every time I'd take a breath. Sucks for you man. Try to get the doctor to give you some good pain killers and rent some video games.

get some painkillers, wash them down with alcohol (just kidding, it sais specifically not to drink alcohol with them), codine works well, so does oxycotin and any other narcotic. i broke my hand when i punched a wall, i hit a stud, it wasn't a bad break so it really didn't hurt that much. i didn't use painkillers because there wasn't any pain.

hmm..i have some super-strength pain killers from when i mangled my thumb with an electric saw. they dont just kill pain, they make you walk funny and fall asleep too!

When I broke my hand caving in the door on my 'burben I just drank a few cups of vodka and smoked a good Cigar.

My hand keeps getting mangled, and I drink the first night, and bitch the others. Hope you feel better!

how about dislocating your shoulder and having to place it back yourself...and it always hurting?

Painkillers are your friend. When I broke mine it hurt everytime I breathe if I didn't take them.

Try breaking your jaw and working as a cook in a restaurant! Make everyone else food but you can't eat any now that is painfull.
For the ribs though any kind of painkillers you can get from your doc and videogames.

i was racing dirtbikes at a comp... when the guy in third hit my bike and sent me off mine and then it ran me over ... breaking 2 ribs and bruising my spleen...its not the first bone i have broke though more like the 7th but its the most painfull one by far..doc gave me meds but then i get dizzy when i walk and feel like shit..

yah, all major painkillers just make me feel terrible!

define fracture your back. i have broken my left femur 2x, shattered my wrist, blown my knee (doctors removed 80% of the cartlege), have had 7 bruised ribs (3 left 4 right) and the interior on the right were cracked, and broke a section out of one of the vertibrea in my back.... # 3 lumbar. the ribs, wrist , and back were from a car wreck. i was laid up for 6 months... 7 surgery's.

how'd they fix your back? fussion? they used a metalic wire wrap that kept the section i broke in the same position it was. pins were too dangerous, and they didnt think the section would float back and fuse correctly. i was lucky, i was damn near ready to die when i lost feeling and control from my solarplex, down. when the swelling went down the feeling returned. now noone even notices except for a minor limp.

I would say some segrams and seven up. if you take 2 ibuprofren and 2 asprin, its the same as a tylenol 4 without the narcotic cracky feeling. Then I recomend some good video game time. something that takes your mind off it. A couple years ago a buddy of mine got into a fight at a farm party and I tried to break it up. Instead, I took a 2 x 4 to the chest. It hurts like a bitch for like a month and a half. Best you can do is take your mind off it.

I just kept with my daily routine. Now they hurt like hell when it rains.

I bruised ribs in baseball once. 80mph fastball got me good. Those hurt like shit for a few days. I've never broken anything though so i dont know how that would feel. Doesnt sound pleasent though.

It was exactly that, a fracture. Dont know how exactly to describe it. There was nothing the doctor could do. He said refrain from jumping or being active for a period of time and take it slow. I was, 8 or 9, so i don't remember what his direct orders were. I just remember I was in extreme pain for a few weeks. Several times it got so bad i had to walk hunched over and have help to lie down for a while.

Broken 3 ribs and cracked 2, didn't let it slow me down.....I just put the pain out my mind and carried on racing (mountain bike).
