Dual Exhaust

My friend told me that you can not put dual exhaust on a 99 tahoe... Is that true? I plannin on lookin into it and I was wondering if it can be done.. thanks

Sure You can put dual or triple exhaust on it if you want.
Time and money is all it takes.
But why are you wanting dual exhaust? Performance or sound or gas mileage or do you just want it?
Tell the people on here more and they can help you more.
And they can help more? engine and trans and mileage?

Do you have a 2 door or a 4 door Tahoe? It can be done on both but I know alot of mechanics that refuse to do them on 2dr tahoes because of the lack of space underneath.

Im looking into this too for my 4D Tahoe. Any good catback systems out there that are bolt on?

I had a catback system put on my 2DR 99, not true duals though. Flowmaster 50 series single inlet to dual 3.5" out, with side exits out the back of the tires. It sounds great if you are looking for a growl, but not annoying the neighbors. It has a real nice sound when you get in the throttle, and it can be heard ok at idle too.

Tom, That would be cool. My current muffler has duel in and one out. There is a huge flange just ahead of the muffler and thats where I want to start with a system. Im looking for a Flowmaster with 2 in and 2 out and then to to pipes like what you have.

If you can send pics, that would be great. Also, what did it cost you?

in the first comment it mentioned gas mileage. Does true dual give you better gas mileage than a catback system? what about performance? Will true dual give you noticeably better performance than a catback system? i have a stock 99 4dr tahoe. if i was looking to put a truedual system on it what would i be looking to spend on it?

I just got the exhaust put on wednesday. It sounds great! It's a nice mellow tone, so don't get this one if you are looking for loud. I had him bring the stainless tips out on a 45 degree angle at the corners of the bumper. It looks and sounds great. I can still listen to the stereo or talk to people without the exhaust being too loud, but when I give it some gas I can hear the sweet sound of v8 power. I'll get some pictures sometime this weekend, I just haven't had time yet. I don't know about gas mileage yet, I've only put about 100 miles on it so far.
