I hope you guys can give me some idea of what's goin on with the bird..I started my car up getting ready to leave work..it started to idle rough and continued to do so..i tryed driving it a bit and the car would vibrate and felt as though the engine had loss of power. i pulled on the side of the road after a minute or two of driving and cut the car off..My service engine soon light was flashing also...I checked underneath my car and saw that part of my cat converter was glowing red hot...i didn't smell the rotten egg smell at all. early Jan i had an injector flush cleaning and two injectors changed for cyl 2 and 5. i don't know if a problem still exist there which would cause my car to operate like that. after 45 mins of letting the car cool, i try to start it.. no power ,car wouldn't even turn over. after getting it to the house via truck/trailer i boosted it (fuses were all good) and it started but still had the rough idle and flashing "service engine soon" light I know the thread is a bit winded just wanted to give as much detail as possible, didn't mean to write a book here! HA hope you guys can give me some idea of what's going on Thanks AF

If the exhaust fumes are coming out prefectly well i would look into mass air flow type of things, and what is your engine temperature at? on a firebird i owned before the maf went bad and i had the same problems.

that could be one of the problems with the car...I can smell the exhaust fumes it smell pretty strong though. the red hot cat is what tripped me out is it because of trapped gases that can't make it thru the cat?
