99 Suburban Dies During Deceleration

The other day our 99 started completely dying during deceleration. This did not happen every time we went to stop, but often enough to keep me guessing. It would crank right up after dying and run fine until the next deceleration. I could keep the engine from dying by slipping it into neutral during deceleration and keeping the rpms up. This isn't really practical in the traffic where I live.
My brother told me to hold the throttle open (with the engine off) and clean the carbon off of the throttle body (where the butter-fly valve that controls the air flow into the engine is). I did this with carburetor cleaner, a tooth brush, and a clean rag. It literly took about 10 minutes and the truck hasn't died since.

You fix the problem. The butter-fly allows some air in and the AIC (Air Idle Control) motor adjust the engine idle, the carbon seals the air off and the AIC motor does not adjust fast enough to keep the engine running. Good Job
