:banghead: HI EVERYONE, I OWN A 99 GMC SIERRA (V6). JUST RECENTLY, MY TRUCK STARTING ACTING UP WHEN YOU FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL. IT SEEMS TO HESITATE, THEN JUST LAG AND WON'T PICK UP SPEED. IF YOU ACCELERATE AT HALF TO 3/4 THROTTLE AT MOST, THE TRUCK ACCELERATES LIKE NORMAL, BUT AS SOON AS YOU MAT IT, IT SEEMS TO CHOKE (LAG). NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, ALL GAUGES ARE NORMAL. FUEL FILTER WAS CHANGED 2 YEARS AGO. 89 OCTANE GASOLINE, TRANNY OIL LOOKS AND SMELLS FINE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS NOW, NOT GETTING WORSE, BUT NOT GETTING BETTER EITHER. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN. THESE FORDS WOOPIN MY BUTT ON THE LINE IS REALLY PISSIN ME OFF.:newburn: LOL. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. PAUL.

so, fuel filter didn't work. purchased a code reader, got mass air flow sensor message. No check engine light, but changed it anyhow. BAM! $284 CAD later and up smokin' rubber again woohoo!! So MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS THE PROBLEM. LATER DUDES.

I'm glad to see that you got it fixed. Just for future reference, usually simply cleaning the MAF will restore it's performance especially in vehicles using K&N air filters (or any other oiled filters). Most of the time the problem is a result of oil from the filter getting on the sensor and causing improper readings.
