Where it suggested that the thermostat be replaced and I also read in another similar post that the water pump could be bad... are these easy things to replace yourself?
This just started happening for me.... I checked the coolant.. I've heard the fan kick on - but when idling the car still goes upto about 200 -210.. than when I start driving it shoots down to 100-130 or whatever mood it's in. Oddly, it's not happening EVERYday.. but enough to raise an eyebrow.
The engine is a 3.4L V6
