Just went to leave the house and car will not go into gear, clutch pedal has no resistance, and there is Dot 3 fluid on the drivers side floor mat.
I just filled the resevoir last week when shifting into 1st became hard, it is now empty. I refilled and it is visibably leaking. When the car was given to me I was told the Slave Cylinder is bad.
I have some expereance, 4 years in dealerships and independent shops, mostly undercarrage stuff
TWO Questions: does this sound like a Slave Cylinder problem?
AND: if it is... is this something I can RnR in my driveway and how much time does the flat rate manual allow for it. if its over 4hr I will take it to a shop. Cus that means it will take me 8, and thats not worth the money I'd save.

A local dealer quoted me $28.75 for the part (a clutch slave cylinder) and 0.5 hrs for labor. Does that sound right.

The fluid on the floor mat was from the Master Cylinder. I took it to a shop and had both done. I did not want to bleed the system. It was well worth the $74 in labor to have someone else do it.
