95 aerostar shift linkage

I was wondering how hard is it to change shift linkage with column shift? My manual doesnt show it and the nearest shop wants at least $250 to do it. and where exactly is this modulator valve on the transmission, i have been going through fluid with no leaks.

Hi, RE, Your aerostar shift linkage, What are you trying to do? What's the problem? Get back with some info....The vac modulator is at the right rear of the trans, Pull the vac line off and see if it's wet with trans oil, If so, Have it replaced, Not an easy job for a novice......See Ya, ... Clay..
