well i dunno how many of yall saw my post about how my car died in front of my girlfriends house but i figured out what it was yesterday, the timing belt slipped off... not broke off... slipped the fuck off... so then today i dig a little deeper into it and guess what??? 3 bent valves :disappoin , my car is officially getting compression on only one cylinder. so my short run with dsm's is now officially over, for now at least. im gonna miss the whining of that turbo but at least now i have a very good reason to get the stang put back together, seeing as how i don't have a car :banghead:

when was it last replaced?? I wouldn't suggest quitting, especially how cheap 6 bolts can be locally. Are you going to part it out?

well thats the thing, ive got $300 to my name right now and $7000 sitting in that mustang that only needs $500 more to get on the road, so i can spend $500 and have a brand new car to drive and sell/part out the eclipse, or wait a long ass time till i get money for a new motor and spend the time to put that in so for now my goal is to get rid of the eclipse for what i can get for it and get the stang on the road cause it'll be a hell of a lot more reliable, im not giving up on dsm's i just have to take a break

(edit) and oh yea the timing belt was replaced when i first bought the car (15k ago)

Hmmm.. Let me know what you want for the whole car, also what mods (if anything else from sig) and miles...

I replaced 3 valved today in my car, cost $28 total but I did the work myself. Timing belt costs me $30 balance shaft belt is $13 ect. Its really not that much money. Don't give up that easy man

yea i was wondering about just redoing the valves and everything myself it's just that i dunno if it fucked anything else up, i really just dont have the time or money to fuck with it, but you think anything would be screwed up? cuz if it only cost you like what $50 then i might go ahead and try, lemme know though cuz i dont really wanna tear it all the way down and find out its fucked up beyonf what my wallet can handle.

and ez i was just gonna ask everyone what they thought i could get for it, here is the cars deal, the cam shaft seal is leaking oil, 3 bent valves, 95,xxx miles, just the mods in my sig, and the front drivers fender is dented, the drivers rear quarter is dented and drivers door handle is broken. interior is in relitively good condition. shit make an offer on the whole car anyone, id rather not part it out unless i can part it out enough to make it worth it.

problem with doing a head job is you get alot of money tied up in gaskets. If you have the right tools its pretty easy. Mine cost ~$300 for all the gaskets and oil and everything but since I'm using a mls head gasket and arp head studs and royal purple oil ect its more than if you were to go to napa and get everything, you could getit done for ~$150-$200 probably

I'll take it off your hands for $100, jp. I really shouldn't be buying another car right now but if you can't find someone else to buy it let me know.

Like EZ said if he buys the car i'm sure i can split the cost with him, I'm sure we could offer you something a little more than it is worth... just let either one of us know.... Oh, and Ell, the car isn't gonna sit in my driveway lol.. Milton that is some shitty luck....

well ive got an official plan now on what to do so ez and mex this is mainly for yall.

my dads loaning me the money to get the mustang on the road and the eclipse is officially for sale.

if yall are seriuos about halfing it or whatever just gimme a price the only thing is im way down in texas (if you couldn't allready tell by all the yalls) and im not gonna move the car at all so it'd be up to yall to come get it, if you were serious, just lemme know and ill probably pm yall about it.

the second part of this story though is if yall dont take it and if its not sold by the time i get my dad paid back and some money put back in the bank im gonna fix it myself so whatever happens happens.

Thats good that your pops is going to lend you the money, I figured, if we could get a flat bed.... drive 24 hours straight lol... and camp out in the car.... we should be fine lol it'd be worth it I think.

If you can fix it for $200 or even $300 I say keep the car around. With the 16g turbo and everything else that car is a good car to have around especially with a rebuild engine. 300 bucks is not that big of a deal, you will eventually find it or your dad will be able to loan it to you until you can pay him back, I am sure. We are not talking about thousands. I wouldn't sell it with what it has on it and based on the work it needs done. That's just my opinion.

I agree with this statment.

Why not just keep it and fix it when you can?

Sounds like you're trying to encourage him to sell it :evillol:

No, If i wasn't border line retarded when I eat things, I would be able to type. I said that I don't if I would trade the sound of a turbo, to a old muscle car. Why would I try to do that? One its like a 13% chance that I would figure a cheap way down and back with the car, and its too damn cold out here right now
