was searching the forum and notice some replies say to remove the abs fuse. Will that allow me to see if the ABS system is failing? Will I still be able to drive the truck safely, wife's truck

That's what i did pulled the 30A fuse in the eng compartment. Brakes work great. except no ABS. gotta watch in the snow & ice. One of my sensors is bad and brakes pulse at around 5mph when i stop. I'll leave tyhe fuse out until i fix the sensor.

I notice that there are two 30 amp fuses listed in my manual for the ABS system for the 97 explorer...should I remove both?

Does the cruise control still work when you remove the fuse?

I put back the fuse that did not shut the ABS light off from the dash and the cruise control is working. I have driven the car all weekend and had no trouble with the brakes. I will drive it this week and see if I have any problems. If not, then what could the cause be in the ABS...air in ABS system? or bad sensor? I have not had any codes sent to the computer.

The truck is driving great, no brake problems and cruise in working (even though we hardly ever use it). The question is now what is wrong with the ABS system...any ideas?

most of the time the abs sensors get dirty from brake dust and/or dirt this is very common on abs systems.

Where are the sensors and do I need to remove them or just spray them with something like brake cleaner? Thanks
