Check Engine Light

It's a beautiful thing! :banghead:

My husband unhooked the battery, stuck a "Wire" coat hanger above the brakes to do whatever (he was hooking up an amp).. it sparked. He gave up, hooked up the battery and now.. my check engine light is on. :uhoh:

I've already had this wonderful car in the shop 5 time in the past 2 weeks for minor repairs. I Purchased it from a used car dealer who's trying to stick it to the female. Anywho... this little thing my husband did only infuriates me even more.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

I drove the car ALL day with no problems until Mr.Genius stuck a metal object practically inside my engine. :screwy:
The only other thing I did today was put Fuel Injection Cleaner in when the tank was empty than refilled.. but I don't believe this is the problem. I believe the problem starts with Mr.Genius. :frown:

It's a 1995 Custlass Supreme Convertiable... V6 3.4L

Took a look at the manual and checked the fuses... fuse 10 (power windows, heat and engine emission (?) was broken..?

Code? I understand you need a code but I'd have to take it to the shoppe to obtain this right?

Just thought I'd reply. I managed to fix it.... it was the fuse. I replaced it, waited a few... the computer must have reset itself because windows and such started working and the service engine light didn't come back on.

Should I still take it to the shop?

No, Drive it and see.

Already did... for about 3 hours... it didn't come back on. So it's very likely it was just the fuse? I read in the manual that even the gas cap being slighly loose can cause the light to turn on?
