Quick Neon Question

Hi, I have a 98 Plymouth Neon and i have 2 7" LCD screens in the headrest hooked up to an XBOX in the trunk. The xbox is hooked up to a 400W power inverter which is more than enough to power the xbox. I had the inverter hooked up to the cd player's power, it would turn on fine but when i fired up the xbox, it would reset like it didn't have enough power coming from the deck. Are there any alternate power sources that I could use? I will also try a lower gauge wire later on.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Mike

You could try a second battery or a stronger alternator.

you should have an empty spot in your fuse block for accessories. Your inverter should be on a 20 or 30 amp service. Your safest option is to run a line straight to your battery with an inline fuse. Too often people connect power for accessories to existing circuits and then wonder why things burn out. Each circuit is designed for a specific load. Check the amp draw at full load and make sure to match your fuse and wiring to that. There should be rubber plugs in the firewall to run wiring through. Good luck

I sort of understood the 2nd response. The inverter works fine when i plug it into the cigarette lighter... but i trying to get it to work so that I dont have to plug in the plugin all the time to play.. I want the inverter to turn on when i start the car. Thanks
