Anyone attemp to use the new kit that exchanges the R12 to R134 and stops leaks. My AC worked great until last year, we recharged it with R-12 ( $80 a pound) it survived 2 months and went away. I saw a kit for $35 at auto parts dealer with R-134 and oil for the condensor. Does it work, will it damage my system. Atleast I can recharge it at a cheaper rate right. Let me know thaks. The car is not worth dropping hundreds of dollars into it but 30-50 is ok! Thanks

you have a leak somewhere.. my AC has one too but i never converted it to R134... i used R422 instead... and is a direct replacement to R12.

my leak is the evaporator under the dash.. gotta fix it this spring.
