That's a China knockoff of the EvoIII. It's not made by Mitsu and if you go to SBR (I think) they have a writeup on it.

yeah it's not the mitsu evo 3gt. Turbo chargers also has a write up on why theirs is supperior. But SBR blasted. It personally if even 1 thing from SBR's was true then I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

i had the evo gt III "knockoff" and the real one,and to tell you the truth is almost completely the same. they both pull just as hard when your boosting them. and come with a a year warranty. but i still rather have the real one, since it has been proven.

They were offering a small 16g for the same price as an evoIII?

Go to the writeup on turbochargers.com that talks about it, it actually makes sense. SBR is just trying to devert sales from companys like turbochargers.com that can make a lot of profit by offering a good turbo for a cheap price, so they make a write up about it saying its crap. I personally owned that turbo for 5k miles on my gst and it ran perfect the whole time. If you think about it...the turbo is actually kind of better, 34mm wga, ported, cheaper price. What's there to lose? So what if it goes out(which it won't) it comes with a 12k or `1 year warrenty.

Overall, it's a great turbo...Turbochargers.com is a lagit company that would never sell crap!

edit> I'm not sure why people refer to it is a "China" GT, I think it was made in Japan, correct me if I'm wrong.

Unless its an unlimited warranty they have plenty of loop holes to get out of fixing it, not saying anything bad but if it takes a shit I can't see anyone replacing it unless they offered an idiot warranty to go along with it. We all know someone out there will pinch off an oil line or something like that and it will have nothing to do with a bad turbo but it cant be proven if it was a turbo failure or not

that kit with the mitsu evo 3 16g isn't bad... 699 for the whole thing.. not to shabby..

I'm still iffy on the gt.

Thanks for the info endlessheart. But I still don't like that it's called an "EvoIII GT." That is an intentionally misleading name, and in fact it has misled many people. Warranties, in my opinion, are worthless and are just a marketing gimmick.

Wish I had some cash for that sale though. Sounds pretty good. :(

Apparently turbochargers.com is suing Slowboy for making false claims about their EvoIII GT turbo. And Slowboy has removed their EvoIII vs. GT page. http://www.slowboyracing.com/evo3vsgt.htm I think they're both biased though. I don't really believe either of them. Oh and I guess the GT's aren't made in China either. They're made in Taiwan. Here's Turbochargers' writeup: http://www.turbochargers.com/evo316g.htm

I have the evo 3 gt manifold and the evo 3 gt turbo on. Its been about 2 weeks now. Im loving both of them. The manifold is nice and beefy and has good flow.
