98 Safari fuel press. problem

Alright, I have a 1998 Safari with a 4.3 v-6 and I have a problem giving me headaches.....Problem is this. I have a cold start problem in the morning and I have excluded ignition as the problem with new cap, rotor. plugs. coil, and module assy. When I test the fuel pressure it reads 60 psi while running...good right....well here is the thing. When I shut it down I loose rail pressure in about 10 seconds....So is the regulator bad or is the check valve in the pump assy. bad causing a drain-back????:banghead:

sounds like you have leaking injectors,drains into the pistons chambers,after you tunn off the eng fuel leaks filling the chambers with lots of fuel and that`s why you having hard start when it`s cold.But usualy the fuel pressure when it is runing it should be around 50 psi.Iwould check the injectors first

I have some more info. I have completed several tests that involved a pressure tester and have noticed I am loosing fuel pressure as soon as I shut the key off. I replaced the pressure regulator with no luck....I also have narrowed it to the injectors (thank you for the thread reply) through blocking fuel lines and return lines while pressurizing the system. I have tried the cheap repair (cleaning the injectors) but with no luck. So I am replacing all of the injectors. I have read there is a new design on the injector assy that did away with the poppet valves....but when I went to order it the shop told me all of them had been recalled due to some legal problems.....So I will give this a shot. If anyone has any other ideas.....let me know...thanks,
