when i sit in my car with the battery on and the engine off, my sound system (700watts from 2 amps) is draining my battery so the ignition is weak, and i was rolling up my windows and the driver side died about 85% of the way up so i gotta give it a minute to recharge or something. should i do the big 3 upgrade? or a new battery like an optima yellowtop? or should i do both?i dont have a cap and im running the stock acdelco batt rite now. thanks.

A Optima yellow top would more than likely fix your problem. I would also recommend using a capacitor if you can.

changing your battery probably wont do anything at all. your having the same problem I am. You have to find out where the draw is comming from and fix it. I have a cap on mine too and it helps with the light flicker and will save your alt in the long run.

ok, i gotta ask cuz i think im getting mixed up on both of yours. when the truck is shut off are you guys running your stereo or are you just parking it and then when you come back to start it the battery is weak or dead?

Really, if you upgrade the big 3, and get a better battery like an optima yellow or blue top, you dont need a cap.
