My gas gauge is going a little crazy. It jumps around as much as 1/4 of a tank. What could be causing this? I can make a trip to work (80 miles roundtrip) and the gauge won't budge but then when I get back in to go to the store it goes to 3/4 and then back to full....

its typical for newr GA's, mine does it too, I usually keep track of miles to know how much fuel I hav.
It is the fuel level in the tank, for some reason they used improper metals and they corroed causing intermitant readings at certain levels. The fix it replace the level sending unit with the updated version of sensor. PITA!
I'm just waiting till my fuel pump dies, then I will replace the level unit.

Sounds like about a 3-4 hundred dollar procedure :)
Maybe that explains why my headlightslights dim quickly when I apply the brakes.

Parts are costly and labor is not cheap. If you done it you self it wouldnt cost anything but for the parts, which I imagine the float cost about $100-125.
No the headlights dim because these cars use so much power, the stock alternator has a hard time keeping up.
They do make biger alternators but as with many things they arent cheap.

I replaced mine already the small metal contacts on the float have worn out the replacement part which cost me $99.00 the meter has much better contacts. It cost about $90.00 to have the tank dropped and the sending unit replaced. The dealer ship tried to tell me the sending unit and the fuel pump could not be seperated(ZOOM!) I knew better the only reason I went there is because I though my warrenty was still in effect. Any way $200.00 is about what it will run you. I ran out of gas once and that was it I got it fixed.
