no reverse

car: 95' eagle talon esi, non turbo,
when i put my car in reverse nothing happenss, it just kinda hesitates than creeps oh so slowly backwards and is i happen to press the fas its like its in neutral, and just revs up......anyone know why?
i check the transmission fluid and its ok.........

I'm not sure but it's not going into gear properly and thus you remain in neutral. chances are you'll need the transmission rebuilt or your reverse gear replaced. Have you ever mis-shifted, accidently attempted reverse at high speeds, or frequently abuse the reverse gear(going from R to 1 at extreme backwards speeds)?

Yeah.. what he said is most likely right... since the problem occurs only for reverse.. it's happened to a buddy of mine... he got a new tranny i think... cause it costed quite a bit..
