My 94 explorer gets about 250 to the tank. Does anybody know how many gallons are in the tank? Any suggestions to help me get better mpg would be great. I recently done the spark plugs and wires. I got a fuel filter and pcv valve but havn't installed them yet. I have a 128k miles on it. I know I need a MAF sensor already due to my pinging. Any other suggestoins are appreciated thanks in advance.:grinyes:

This is something I'd be interest in as well. I know that the tank on mine[Limited Edition] is 17 gallons, and on a full tank, I get ~240 miles, mostly in city driving. I heard that those 'Tornado' things are great, but at $60 a pop, they are pretty steep for me.

i replaced my stock air filter box with that cold air intake system, my gas mileage increased by about 3mpg. very much worth it to me. also keep a close eye on tire pressure, low air pressure in tires cause a huge decrease in mileage.

Yeah, I noticed that too. How much are the CAI systems? And say I wanted to remove the back seats, would the weight loss be great enough to increase mileage? I rarely give people rides anymore, so I just need enough for me, one other, and I may keep the /40 seat in my explorer, just in case.

We have a 93 Eddie Bauer and get about 15 mpg. That would be about the same as you get, if that helps any.
I am watching to see if you get any great wisdom.
Good Luck

I did have one idea, say I were to remove the fog lights, could I use that and my friends pipe bender to build my own cold air ram intake? I do have access to the equipment and parts for free, so the only question is how would I go about doing that? Anything specific to keep in mind, and would it be worth it?
