ticking noise in front - c240 2002

Has anyone hav this problem, I usually have an intermittent ticking noise in the front and the dealer said they adjust the valve. I hav no clue what he says but it came back and it is very annoying especially at night when I am coming home seems everyone know I am coming home late at night. It is very evil.
