1999 Water Pump

I notice the design of the old water pump changed. The fins are now further extended. The water pump sits in an awkward spot - if the weep hole leaks, it leaks onto the A/C compressor. It rsted our my A/C compressor! What sayeth ye???:2cents:

When the seal went on my wife's '99, it went onto the serpentine belt and therefore onto every single item under the hood, including soaking the hood insulation/dampening material and ruining the belt (probably could have washed it and reused it but the rubber felt a little soft and guoey.) Easy as ever to replace, but still one of many design issues that are far less than optimal with that engine.
