2005 Caravan airbag light reset

Have 2005 Caravan repairable. Main computer, airbags, and airbag control module are from parts van. New pre-tensioners installed. Cannot get airbag light to go out. Any ideas?

Brake sensors could be dirty, or a bad ground. My guess is because of the year of your vehicle it's the sensors need cleaning.

On some Toyotas there is a procedure that lets you reset the light by grounding wires at a test plug under the hood by touching ground three times in 3 seconds. Does anybody know if Chrysler was gracious enough to bestow that ability to their minivan DIYers? Knowing how easy Chrysler has made it to repair any malfunction on their wonderous machines, I would be shocked if they didn't. Ya...uh hu.

Thanks, The sensors are relatively cheap so I will give it a try. Do you know if Chrysler needs to clear the codes or is there an aftermarket scan that works for Chrysler airbags?

There's an aftermarket scan tool, but it's not the typical "Actron" code reader we all (should) have, and it costs too much, like everything else we have to have! I don't beleive the code readers will even work on a 2005 anyway!

Once you have it fixed, and the airbag modules are new, take it to somebody who spent the bucks on the tool, and pay them to clear the Air bag light....gotta be cheaper than buying the tool!

Whatever you do, don't think for a minute that grounding pins on the service connector is going to work. Unless of couse you want to buy a new BCM or ECM!
