Favorite BMW M car?

BMW's M brand has arguably been one of the most influential movements in the car market since the 1980's. It brought the sports sedan to the next level, and heavily influenced Mercedes-Benz's AMG and Audi's S cars. What I want to know is, which one is your favorite and why?

E46 CSL, and then E63 M6, the S85 has got to be one of the top 2 or 3 mass production engines ever built.

Absolutely stunning classic that will ALWAYS look good.

I am definately going with the E36 M Roadster. I was not always a mustang guy.... when I was a kid the Z3 was the first car I ever liked. I am not even a fan of convertibles but that is a cool car. The M version is even better. For some reason I do not like the coupe version.

e24 M6 for me. my brother just bought an '87 635csi about a month ago, and it's absolutely gorgeous. it was an instant classic, and it's timeless design.
but to have that car with the 'M' treatment would be orgasmic. 286hp and a close ratio 5spd.
just to put it into perpective, this car has the same power to weight ratio as an S2000, a new 645Ci, or an '03 Mustang Mach 1
