HI.
Im looking into buying a van. I have come across a 1995 Transport. The owner says needs a heater core. However, I just want any other suggestions from the crowd here about the the Transport vans? What should I be aware of? Is it recommended? Mileage is just over 200,000. the guy is asking for CDN $1400.
Any suggestion, ideas would be greatly appreciated. Ive just been burned with another van after having bought it a few months back and Im not rich. I just want something to drive my parents around in.

$1400 is an honest price. I inderstand 200,000km. The front end (ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rod ends - both ends -) is a sensitive area but parts are easy to replace. Engine should be a 3800. The 3.1 is more questionable being prone to head gasket failure.
Read THIS (www.avigex.ca/xport/HeaterCoreRemove.jpg) to have an idea of what is involved with the heater core...summer's coming, you can bypass the hoses for a little while may be.
