replacing intake manifold gaskets

I have a '99 Jmmy 4.3 with 115k kms. Since 75k I've had 3 rad flushes because of no heat. Now the coolant level is dropping and I'm told manifold gaskets, a costly repair. When I was younger with muscle cars I did my own maintainence but things are more complicated now. Is this something I can take on myself over a weekend or is it best left to the experts.

I change intake gasket before 3-4 days
Cost my 800 hundred dolars
Wase leak my 1998 jimmy
Is hard doing your self, need special tools for replace some parts, and i take to the mehanic

It can be done with good set of metric sockets, wrenches and Torque wrench. The main difference from your old muscle cars days is the amount of stuff you gotta remove to get to it. There are lots of wires, but everything has different connectors so you can't plug it in wrong. Take pictures first & label all hoses & wires. Had mine replaced for $346.00, so far not leaking. He used a aftermarket metal gasket instead of GM. Its a 99 Jimmy, with 85000 miles.
Going to do the AUTORX treatment at the next oil change.
