perfect storm yeah right

Ok for those of you who read my upcomming match between my bestfriend and me. It happened all day today. First race was just kinda a screw around we'd pace eachother and then fall in but then we found a nice smooth, straight, flat road. Geo storm gsi vs dodge avenger just so everyone else knows.

Race #1 From a dig. We stop and i honk it off 3 times. I floor it he downshifts and spins by the time he got off the line i had him by 3 cars and kept on pulling by the time i shutdown and flashed the hazards i had him by 2.5 bus lengths.

Race #2 20mph roll honk it off and my shitty low end torque doent let me pull he down shifts and pull 1 length. I caught and was at his nose and i gave a big wave and my g/f smirked and said "Dont toy with him hun." i look over and nod push the pedal to the road and blow him away.

Race #3 was a huge surprise 20 mph roll and blow him away when my most hated enemy showed up the grand prix gt supercharged we were at about 40 mph. I instantly wanted him i look over and its this smartass teen kid who was bitching that he was gonna waste my whole team. Me being the leader i had to take the challenge. I motion to stop he does and i honk it off him being a idiot but his car in neutral rev and at the 3rd honk i laugh as he sits there and spins and i got 3 cars on him. I look back hes finally coming but im still pulling on him and at 102 shut off flash my hazards he ricer flys by and keeps on going. My team mate pulls up and yells "We wont be hearing from him for a very longgg time." I smile nod and head to my house to watch a movie

NOTE during all these races there was 3 people in my car plus a 50 lbs subwoofer box. all in all i had a great time tonight and kicked the hell out of my worst enemy and showed my 2nd in command who was the leader around these parts.

Nice kills. What are the specs on a dodge avenger? I dont know much about them.

i dont know right off hand i think 196hp with 170lbs of torque i think i might be off a little bit on them i think they might be a bit more. The low end torque sucks all ass but after i get the rpms up she pulls like a high flow toilet.:grinyes: i dunno much else about the motors except there tough as hell and the car itself handles pretty damn nice.

dodge avenger has 163hp, not sure on the tq. a lot of what makes them faster than the 4 cyl is the tq though. nice kill on the gp, sounds like that guy was an idiot.

Nice kill on the GP, but race him from a roll and I can pretty much guarantee the result will be different, but that kid is an idiot for putting it in neutral.

:werd: He doesn't even need to know how to drive well, just has to not be an idiot. With an auto, theres not much to it. You said it's a Grand Prix GT supercharged, is it one of the newer ones then? The GT's weren't supercharged until... 05 i think, maybe 04. Before that, GT's just had the N/A 3.8L engine, not a slouch but nothing like the supercharged. Either way, good races.

i thought the 4cyl. avengers were faster than the v6's cuz of weight to power...

anyways..... what car did you race? i would think that if you were racing something and got him by 3 cars off the line and 2.5 buslengths later on... you were surely racing a metro or a pre-1989 civic sedan misfiring on a cylinder... or an automatic 4cyl eclipse :rofl:

Ok the reason i pulled 3 cars on him off the line is because he was power shifting by putting his car into neutral and then slamming into drive, that caused him to sit there and spin a whole heck of alot.

The pontiac grand prix gt super charged is called the gt yes because the gt is supercharged as a feature a person in my school got one.

stock avengers v6s run low 16 the 5 speed 4 cyl run high 15 middel 15s in a 1/4 mile

It's not a bad car, stupid move though to make the V6 only come in auto.

not calling you a liar but to beat a car that is a usually consistant low 14s to high 13s car is kinda hard to take in you know what I mean.....but yes then again it WAS on the street and he was spinning of the line so I guess some..

I checked and 05 was the last year the GT's had the N/A 3.8, in 06 the base has the N/A 3.8L V6, the GT has the S/C 3.8L V6, and the GXP has the 5.3L V8. So I was off by one year. If it was any year before that it would have an N/A stock, although if you had enough money you could get the tranny and engine from a GTP and drop it into a GT body (or have a GTP and put GT badges on it, that would be more amusing).

i dont know how much it matters but it was cold so if that matters i dunno. I will have to ask the one kid in my school with the supercharged grand prix for a race to see if hes bluffing.

Good kills...but what the hell is the deal with everyone having these "teams" and "crews". Is it like, that people are so self conscious that they can't go out on their own, that they have to have teams? And if your the leader of your team...wow.

see what you do is go up to the fastest member in their team race him and you could say you could beat pretty much thier whole team........I did that once with my first gen......I ended up racing a EG hatch w/gsr swap and boltons.....I beat him by a half a car.......I didnt know he was the fastest car in his team until a week later......I just ran him for fun at the time.....

Don't you people pay attention.. you have to have teams because there's a hierachy to street racing. You can't race until you prove yourself. So you have to work your way up the blackli.. err.. the team.

I love when i post changes and we all learn about what cars people in our area drive. I wouldnt have a shot in hell at most of the cars listed. But it would be fun just to give it a try just for the rush.

Guy in GTP is an Idiot. There is NO need at all to keep GP in neutral during the launches, car has enough low end torque to spin tires without it. GTP had traction control system, so either that fool turned it down or his car's electronics is messed up. GTP has 280 lb-ft of torgue...

It is true that there isn't a great need to launch with higher RPMs, especially from a neutral drop, but powerbraking can help, you just have to do it intelligently. Even a GT can spin the tires from a launch, but a proper powerbrake from either wont spin the tires but will get you a better launch than just mashing the gas pedal. Even if the guy in the GP had a N/A GT, he shoulda been able to keep up (and probably win) if he weren't an idiot and had even a decent launch. He may have still had TC on, you can spin the tires with it on, but the TC will stop it pretty quick.

nikita, you have any mods on your car? Just curious since i have pretty much the same car, and wondered what those of us with lowly GT's do.

im a little late on this one... but the reason they dont have a manual v6 is because they couldnt figure out a way to make it fit. it wasnt possible, i believe there is a swap available now, but it is probably expensive, and knowing dsm's its probably not very reliable.
