4.3 S-10 Jerking - Skipping when accelerating

I have a 2002 S-10 4.3 5 speed, the problem I am having is that when I accelerate my truck jerks, almost like it missing, it idles perfect, the rpm guage never changes, I have ran fuel additive to ensure it's not water in the line, this is my second tank of fuel so I dont think its a "bad gas" issue either. It only does it when you get on the gas fairly good. I'm going to change the fuel filter and see if that helps but any ideas from the forum would be great. BTW, the truck has 50K on it. Thanks again for your time.:banghead:

could be weak spark not working under load. maybe change spark plug wires, cap, rotor, coil. check wires feeding coil for loose or dirty connections.

I have an 89 blazer w/4.3 and having similar problem. Mine idles and runs fine when its cold when it warms up it idles rough and sometimes jerks and backfires through the throtle body while accelerating. I've replaced the EGR valve, the EGR solinoid, MAP sensor, and still having problems.

I would look at the cap and rotor first. The stock GM cap sucks. Go with one with the brass tips. Cap and Rotor Review (http://www.s-10crewcab.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3371&highlight=cap+rotor) I would also change the fuel filter and run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in my gas after changing the filter. If the truck has TBI they are knon to blow base gaskets under the throtle body. you can try tighting the bolts holding it to the intake. If its not TBI read this thread Spider (http://www.s-10crewcab.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4239&highlight=spider)
