Idle problem when in Drive

Hey guys I have a 89 1st gen Teg that when its stopped at a light on the brake while in gear it seems to shudder. Waht would cause this? Low idle rate? Or something more? After I let off the gas and it idles and goes it runs fine. Btw its auto (obviously)
