I bought a remote starter for my '98 Altima. I have everything hooked up, which was difficult due to the two starter wires my car has. Everytime I use the remote start to start my car the alarm goes off. I found out that i need to hook a wire in my remote start to my alarm disarm wire in my car. i looked it up and it is supposed to be green with a yellow stripe, so i connected them and had the same problem...and here comes the question: The factory alarm disarm wire has a negative polarity, my remote start module shoots a negative pulse through the system to disarm the alarm so my car can start. The book said some cars may need a positive pulse, which requires the use of a relay. Since my alarm disarm wire is negative, does it require a negative or positive pulse to disarm it?

Well if you have everything hooked up correctly and it's sending a negative pulse and the alarm is still not deactivating then the negative pulse apparently isn't what it needs. You might try disconnecting the negative pulse lead, have a positve charge ready and try the remote start again. If the positive doesn't do it either then try back tracking and make sure you have it wired and grounded right and make sure you have the correct voltage going to the alarm.
